That may be a little forward but that was the theme for today. I'm not a huge pajama person. I have a few pajama pants or shorts but typically I wear a tank top with a sports bra and well underwear too. There are always a pair of pants on the floor beside the bed or a top Petey's kennel. You'll never catch me sleeping nude. What happens, heaven forbid, the house was to catch on fire and I had to get out fast. Yes that's how I think. I was browsing through the clearance section the other day at Target wasting time and I found the cutest pajama gown by Gilligan and O'Malley. I wore it for the first time last night and loved it. Not too heavy. Not too big. Didn't come unbutton. It's probably going to become my go to sleep outfit and it was so unexpected. You always have to at least one pajama outfit for when you have guests, sharing a cabin with friends or just everyday.
I still get on Pinterest but not as much as I did in the beginning. Recently I found a picture of an outfit that I knew I could replicate because I had similar pieces. So I did this week and I think it turned out kind of cute.
Pants: New York and Company (fit great at beginning of day but become two sizes too big at end of day. Have to wear a belt and I don't like belts.)
Shoes: old...Croc heels. (Really comfortable in beginning but like 4 years old now. Would buy again.)
Scarf: I don't really remember. I honestly think it was from an airport on a trip to or from Spain when I studied there in college. Or from a store in Spain. IDK
Do you use Pinterest or other outlets as inspiration for your outfits?
I probably watch every show that Bravo airs...at least the first episode. The New Atlanta just wasn't my thing. I like the old Atlanta....yes I watch that one too but only like the last two seasons. And no it's not called the old Atlanta really. This summer I watched "Eat, Drink, Love" and one of the chefs runs a store called Fonuts. Hmmmm what's that you ask. Well it's taking the fun out of doughnuts because they're not fried. They're baked and/or steamed and well that's just not cool when I want my sprinkle, chocolate covered doughnut. And while we're at it do you spell it doughnut or donut? I'm so confused. Yesterday I had an office day and so the tv was going on in the background with all those wonderful shows that my stay at home mom friends rave about and I'm like yea that's cool cause I'm out on the streets slinging carpet and ain't nobody got time for those shows. Ok that's made up because I really don't have any close friends that are stay at home moms but if I did they would talk about all hours of the Today show, the Talk, Bethenny, Ellen, and anyone else that the networks think we relate to. The blonde hair girl...I'm not good with names even though I watch E! News EVERY night...no lie or joke..anyways, the blonde hair girl in 2 Broke Girls was on one of the shows talking about last night's episode and they find out about some craze called Cronuts and try to make their own. Cronuts are real. I asked my friend Google and he said it's a croissant and donut pushed into one...I'm sure pushing is not the method but whatevs. And then I was watching last week's episode of The Crazy Ones and they brought up cronuts. I looked it up and the bakery that came up with it is in New Yok and make it in limited production and exclusivity and there is a freaking black market where these people are selling $5 pastries for up to $100.....WTF!!!!! And then I'm like it only took the chef two months and 10 recipes to get it right and where's my big idea. I then googled it to see if some place in Houston was making, selling these and sure enough Pena's Donut Heaven in Pearland has their own version but for a steal at $3.50. They call theirs dosants because that entrepreneurial genius of a chef in New York has a patent on the name Cronuts. Then I begin to think of foods I could put together to start the next food craze and well I come up with nothing. I guess I'll hit the streets with my carpet till I can think of something...still thinking.
I know. I know. You thought I fell off the wagon. Had a lazy person relapse. Retrogress. About-face to not running. Ok I'll stop and yes I used the World Wide Web to figure out other ways to say fall of the wagon cause well...I haven't. Have I been following Hal Higdon's Half marathon Training program in entirety? No. Have I been running as much as I should? No. I have been running 2-3 times per week. Last week I ran 7 miles...wait did you read that right?!?! Yup 7 miles.
I should be at 8 miles according to my friend Hal but eh I'll get there and I think I'll be just fine come the race in November. Or that's what I keep telling myself.
What makes running so exciting this week and will make me get out there more is the 10 Day forecast?
Damn weatherman you better be right this time?
So I know you've been on the edge of your seat wondering about my half training and there you have it. I had to make it light and funny (or I hope I'm funny. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one laughing) cause I've really been beating myself up lately on my progress but then I have to remind myself that it's ALOT better than what anything I did 9ish months ago. I just keep thinkin how amazing it will be and feel to finish my first half marathon and have Natalie there with me. I never thought I would want to do long distances but once again it's something I'm liking as I transition into it.
I love pumpkin stuff, decor and food but I'm not one to sit at Starbucks the day they start serving pumpkin lattes for the fall. I haven't even had one....maybe ever. I really think the pumpkin flavored craze has gone overboard the last couple years. Pumpkin pizza, pumpkin soup, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin vodka, pumpkin m&ms, pumpkin poptarts, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin doughnuts and I could go on and on. I like pumpkin but I don't need everything I eat in a day during fall to be pumpkin flavored. I went to Trader Joe's the other day and did purchase some of their pumpkin treats, pumpkin breakfast bars and pumpkin butter. I really wanted to try their pumpkin bagels. Maybe I'll get some next trip. This will probably be the extent of my pumpkin eating this fall and I'm ok with that.
I ate the pumpkin butter with some low fat whipped cream cheese on toasted English muffins. It's like pumpkin cheesecake for breakfast.
I already had Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice K Cups leftover from last year. It doesn't seem right to drink any other time but fall.
This coffee is perfect with a little milk and a little sweet and low. I'm almost out and can't wait to find another fall-ish flavor for the rest of the season.
When it comes to decorations, I've decided fall decorations for two months is better than Halloween for a month and fall for a month. Plus fall decorations are much prettier than any Halloween decorations. I have a Halloween wreath that will probably be made into something else because the base is the woody look. (That's a professional description and I'm sure JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby use it on the daily.)
Natalie got me the cute pumpkins leading up to the front door. I'm hoping I can find something equally as cute for Christmas.
We also have a decorative pillow, fall hand towels and a fallish flower arrangement on table. Holiday decorations for me are not something I overdo. Just enough is my motto.
Do you do Halloween and fall or just fall? What are your favorite pumpkin treats?
- I take hot showers even when I'm hot and/or it's hot outside.
- I ate two chocolate chip cookies for breakfast.
- I decided Friday night to buy a car and did it on Saturday morning. I'm not that impulsive usually.
- I raced everyone at the park last night....they didn't know it. I won!!!
- Looking forward to a weekend with nothing planned. Not sure when that will be.
- I could eat buffalo sauce anything every single day. Buffalo chicken salad. Buffalo wings. Buffalo dip. Buffalo sauce on my fries. Buffalo nachos. And on and on. It's right up there with BBQ and Mexican food.
- I haven't done a Half Marathon update in two weeks. Tomorrow perhaps...I'm still running tho. Have no fear.
