Unplanned weekends are sometimes the best

It was one of those weekends where we had absolutely nothing planned and we both needed to refuel...refuel our energies, relationship and bodies.

It was so nice to spend a Friday night at home together. We had thought about meeting some friends out but after a late Mexican food lunch and a nap we decided to stay in. We even threw in an impromptu frozen yogurt date later in the evening.

Saturday we got up rested and ready to spend it however. We had a few errands we wanted to get done. Jarad has talked several times about getting a Texas star to go above garage. So we ran to Hobby Lobby and got that and a Ford sign for the garage.  Then we went to Garden Ridge to get a tv console which was my birthday present. Rest of the afternoon was hanging and putting together the tv console. Putting together furniture with your husband is just as good as marriage counseling.

Safety last is our motto...or was on that day.

Texans had their second per season game that evening. I was craving steak and potatoes. We invited out newlywed friends Brandon and Michelle over. Cooked some New York strip and rib eye cause we couldn't decide. Mushrooms in the crockpot. Sautéed squash and zucchini. And had the perfect Saturday football night meal.

Those unplanned weekends can sometimes turn out to be the best ones. Now here's to a great week.

  1. Dave and I had one of those kinds of weekends...the only thing on our agenda was his sister's 30th birthday on Saturday night and church on Sunday morning. The rest of the time was us running errands and hanging out...all unplanned which was nice since most of our life seems to be scheduled out for us here lately.

  2. Love the star! Miss football...the American kind.
