If you Really Knew Me...

If you really knew me... on Tuesday

- I do calf raises when Petey takes a poop.
- I never thought I was an emotional eater but I am and I eat when I'm bored. Trying to drink water instead of eating.
- I'm probably going to see Safe Haven on Valentine's day by myself. J works. :(
- I still haven't gotten my inspection done...hopefully tomorrow.
- I read a crap ton of blogs. They range from food, exercise, decor, organizing ...

Make-up or just a smile

The other day I was going through Pinterest while I'm sure I was watching some reality show and I came across a pin about the top 21 makeup tricks or something to that effect.  I tried finding the pin again but couldn't.  I didn't pin it, well, because they were things I was already doing and didn't even know they were tricks/tips.  Some of the tips were the white shadow on the inside corner of your eye to make you look more awake.  Using liquid liner over a pencil liner for more vibrant and stay put color.  I just started doing this and it really makes a difference.  Using pencil eyebrow liner and then use a powder (I use a eye shadow.) over that.  Shoot now I can't remember some of the others.  I don't claim to be any sort of make up artist or any good at applying make up.  I do like changing it up and tend to not wear the same colors, effects, etc day in day out.  Therefore, I sell Mary Kay because a) I like their make up b) I get it a discount and can afford the different/new products that come on the market c) many of my friends and all my sisters use it. So I do it as a service.  In every Look Book there are 4 looks.  I pull those out and have them in clear page protectors in a binder under my bathroom sink and use as a reference for colors to put together, different methods, etc.  One make up tool that I have been wanting for a long time is a lighted make up mirror.  When we were on our honeymoon, our resort had one in each of the bathrooms and I loved it.  A year and a half later I still haven't purchased one for myself but I'm getting close to it.  I want a decent one and the are like $50+.  I never wore makeup till college...good God how did I go that long? Now I don't leave home without at least a little on and I am learning more and more as I go through the Mary Kay info, pinterest, and blogs I follow. So a little goes a long way and if you're not a make up girl just remember to smile!!

I went Pink

I had talked about not wanting to paint my nails pink in the winter and waiting till summer to use my new pink Sally Hansen Complete Manicure color, Frutti Petutie. But the sun has been shining the last two days and I've been in a good mood all week despite dealing with a nagging cough. I like this cheery color and will now use anytime.

Does it Really Matter

* I post too many pictures and posts about my dog but he's just so darn cute.
* I need to take the Christmas music off my iPod.
* My car inspection went out on in October and I still haven't gotten it renewed. Oopsies.
* I push snooze 2-3 times in the morning and they are 10 mins long. I need to break that habit.
* I like brussel sprouts...well pickled and roasted. Many years ago my parents made me eat brussel sprouts for dinner one night and I sat at the table well after everyone left trying to finish them. Only because I was told I had to. After the last one went down, they all came up and all over the couch. I never had to eat them again. Thanksgiving this year someone brought a brussel sprout dish. I tried it. I didn't hate it but wasnt my fav. But in November while visiting a friend in Wisconsin we had bloody marys served with a pickled brussel sprout. It was served with alcohol so it can't be bad, right? Loved it. Even made my own for lake trip before Christmas. And then last night I made some roasted with olive oil, salt and pepper. So yummy. So folks, I now like brussel sprouts.

January is already half way over

Can hardly believe that January is half way over. Maybe it's because I haven't stopped since the beginning. Between visiting family and our yearly new product show in Dallas I have only been home half of half of January. And I don't think it's going to slow down anytime soon. Seems like everyday I get a message or event invite on Facebook or something in the mail for a baby shower, wedding shower, wedding, get together and who can forget the month of Rodeo shenanigans is coming up soon. Plus we plan on going to New Orleans Super Bowl weekend even though our beloved Texans just couldn't make it this year. I'm tired just trying to keep up with the calendar. So my advice that I also need to take when life is busy...sleep, eat better, take your vitamins, organize, and use your time wisely. Work smarter, not harder. It's going to be a great year if the rest of the year mirrors the beginning!!
