I'm so excited to have added a shop page and look forward to creating items for those that want different and unique gifts. I'm continually trying to come up with new ideas and love giving what I've come up with. I wanted others to be able to have that opportunity too and new things will be added as I create them. There are already three projects in the works that I will be able to post soon. I look forward to hearing your feedback and your ideas on other things to create.
After a great weekend away for a wedding I wasn't sure if I wanted to make dinner because I was a little tired from all the festivities. But with a little inspiration from Pinterest I came up with a pretty good dinner menu.
The steaks I just broiled in the toaster oven. The mushrooms I used this recipe and the potatoes I used this recipe. Served a lite caesar salad from a kit and everything turned out yummy.
Now to rest and watch a little tv before the work week is back upon us.
In an effort to be a better blogger I think some themed days will keep me on a schedule. So for my love of music, on Thursdays I am going to share a song that I've been enjoying throughout the past week. This week's song is Luke Bryan's song, I don't want this Night to End. The country station that I listen to that comes out of Conroe has been playing it regularly and I crank it up everytime. Enjoy!!
"Don't Want This Night To End" Girl I know I don’t know you But your pretty little eyes so blue Are pulling me in Like the moon on your skin I’m so glad you trusted me To slide up on this dusty seat And let your hair down Get out of town Got the stars coming out over my hood And all I know now is it’s going good You got your hands up You’re rocking in my truck You got the radio on You’re singing every song I’m set on cruise control I’m slowly losing hold Of everything I got You’re looking so damn hot And I don’t know what road we’re on Or where we’ve been From staring at you girl All I know is I don’t want this night to end Gonna cuss the morning when it comes Cause I know the rising sun Ain’t no good for me Cause you’ll have to leave Gonna make the most of every mile Do anything to make your smile Land on my lips Get drunk on your kiss Clock on the dash says 3:35 There’s plenty of gas and the night’s still alive You got your hands up You’re rocking in my truck You got the radio on You’re singing every song I’m set on cruise control I’m slowly losing hold Of everything I got You’re looking so damn hot And I don’t know what road we’re on Or where we’ve been From staring at you girl All I know is I don’t want this night to end You got your hands up You’re rocking in my truck You got the radio on You’re singing every song I’m set on cruise control I’m slowly losing hold Of everything I got You’re looking so damn hot And I don’t know what road we’re on Or where we’ve been From staring at you girl All I know is I don’t want this night to end I don’t want this night to end No I don’t want this night to end
For the wedding that we are going to this weekend, I also made this ornament. I've seen this done on Pinterest and a few friends have made them as well. What a neat way to keep your invitation and celebrate now and remember throughout the years at Christmas.

We have had several weddings in the last month and I have always liked the plaques that have the couples new name, wedding date, etc. So after seeing several ideas on pinterest I made a couple for the weddings that have past and the one this weekend.
The below I made for Natalie and Joe and she got to use as decorations at the wedding. It matched the burlap table runners I had made as well as the Mrs & Mr pillows.
The back of the Mr and Mrs pillow is some chic green patterned cotton fabric. The blue thread on the tableclothes matched the bridesmaid dresses perfectly.
All of these projects were simple and easy but a custom present for the new couples that I hope they will proudly display in their homes.
Sundays are usually the only night during the week that Jarad and I have dinner together. So on those nights we sit at the table and enjoy a "family dinner." Tonight I made a crock pot recipe from my Better Homes and Garden crock pot cookbook. It was super easy. The recipe called for flank steak but I used a thin sirloin because it was on sale. You brown the 1 lb or so piece(s) on both side on medium high heat. Place a cup of sliced onion and a sliced pepper on bottom of crock pot. Sprinkle on 1 1/2 teaspoon of italian seasoning. Place meat on top and then pour a can of beef broth over and cook for 5-6 hours on high. Assemble the sandwiches on a crusty bun with provolone cheese and horseradish mayo. I found a horseradish dijon mayo that was so good. Served the sandwiches with sweet potato fries and voila a pretty inexpensive (about $10 for entire meal depending on what ingredients you may have in cupboard)and a yummy dinner.

A couple weeks back I made a fabric wreath for our door. There are tons of tutorials out there and tons of themes that could be done...sports, holidays, colors, etc. I'd always wanted a wreath for the door and football season was the perfect excuse. A yard and a half of three different Texas Longhorn themed fabrics, wood circle (I used embroidery wood hoop. Some use a wire hanger), black ribbon and a Texas ornament was all it took. Simple but just enough to show our Texas pride. I should have done one side Texas and one Tennessee... maybe next season. A Christmas one is already in the design phase and I already have a hoop since an embroidery hoop is actually 2 hoops. Oh and I'd like to thank the academy... I mean my neighbors for leaving the hook on their door when they moved out. I knew those extra command strips would eventually come in handy. Yes I've had them since college.
